How does Walk and Talk Therapy work?

First, you will meet with me for an initial evaluation to determine if Walk and Talk Therapy is right for you. After the initial session, the following sessions are held while walking around the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA or at the Chandler Path in Burbank, CA.

Most everyone can participate in Walk and Talk Therapy, as long as there are no medical reasons to prevent someone from walking. Even mothers with infants can participate; they can bring their infant in a stroller while they are in session. But, like any other form of exercise, you should consult with a physician before starting. Based upon availability. I have the most availability on afternoons/evenings during the week, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings.


Is this a cardio workout?

The emphasis in Walk and Talk Therapy is on the therapy, and the walking is a secondary benefit. We walk at your pace. You should not expect an extremely strenuous workout or any sort of personal training.

Do you accept insurance?

I am not on any managed care network or insurance panels but I am accepted by all health insurance carriers as an out-of-network provider. Clients pay fees in full at each session. At the end of each month, I provide my clients with invoices which they are able to submit to their insurance companies for reimbursement. Many clients choose not to go through their insurance companies because of limited time slots, limited specialties, and the fact that a record of diagnosis can follow your medical records in years to come and make it more difficult to obtain insurance in the future.

How do I access my out-of-network benefit?

On the back of your insurance card, there should be a toll free number for questions related to your mental health benefit. When calling, be sure to check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

What are my mental health benefits?

What is my deductible and has it been met?

How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider? ?

Is approval required from my primary care physician?
